AMMAN — The second week of the Jordan Summer Festival 2026 kicked off on Friday across several governorates, as part of government efforts to boost domestic tourism and provide entertainment and cultural outlets for Jordanian families and visitors.
Organised by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with various partners, the festival offers a diverse package of free artistic, cultural, and entertainment activities throughout the summer season across multiple locations, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The event aims to support local communities, highlight the cultural and tourism potential of the governorates, and stimulate economic activity in the host cities.
In Madaba, the festivities resumed at the Imad Al Din Zengi Stadium square in the city centre.
Madaba Culture Director Mohammed Rawahneh said that the festival dedicates “significant” space to families and youth by presenting cultural, artistic, and heritage segments, children's activities, games, and cultural competitions, while also supporting local women and young talents.
In Tafileh, the activities commenced at the Sala Tourist Visitor Centre, attended by local families, official department directors, mayors, and community representatives.
Tafileh Culture Director Salem Faqir said that the festival provides a space that blends entertainment with culture while supporting local talents and productive families to market their goods.
The programme featured children's shows, the "Mai wa Milh" (Water and Salt) carnival, a DJ musical performance, a local talent segment, and concluded with a concert by artist Adham Al Salman.
In Aqaba, the Great Arab Revolt Square hosted the second Friday events of the festival, drawing a large crowd of residents and visitors.
Aqaba Culture Director Tariq Bdoor said that the festival aims to enhance cultural activity in the governorates, provide free entertainment for all age groups, stimulate the local economy, and offer a platform for artisans to showcase their crafts.
Bdoor added that the Jordan Summer Festival 2026 events will continue every Friday evening until August 28, featuring a diverse programme that reflects Jordanian cultural heritage and promotes community participation.
